Detailed Course Outline

Getting Started With Photoshop CS To begin, we will learn how to open and close Photoshop, use the interface, perform basic file management tasks, and modify the Photoshop screen layout. Exploring Photoshop CS This section will introduce participants to the Toolbox, palettes, option bar, presets, and shortcut keys. Working With Photoshop Participants will learn how to make selections, perform basic selection tasks, and use selections to edit an image. We will also use the Crop tool and the Extract command. Images And Color This section will begin with theory on digital images. Then, we will look at changing image size and resolution, working with a canvas, setting up your monitor using Adobe Gamma, and performing basic color tasks. Working With Retouch Tools Participants will learn how to retouch images using the Blur, Sharpen, Dodge, Burn, Sponge, Healing Brush, Clone Stamp, Pattern Stamp, Patch, and Smudge tools; hue and saturation settings; and brightness and contrast settings. Using Layers This section will look at creating, using, managing, hiding, and showing layers. Getting Creative With Photoshop This section will explore the Brush tool and Type tool. We will also look at vector graphics and special effects. Working With Masks And Channels To conclude, we will learn how to use masks and channels when editing an image.
